The City of Chester Swimming Club is one of the foremost competitive clubs in the North West.

The club comprises 8 squads, starting with skills development for 10 and 11 year old swimmers, ranging through training development, competition development and finally two performance squads for the elite swimmers.  Swimmers progress through the squads on the basis of ability and commitment.  In all, the squads have almost 150 swimmers.

Regular house galas are held for the younger swimmers, and club swimmers regularly triumph in regional galas, notably the County Championships and the Speedo League.

Many of these swimmers achieve National Qualifying Times and go on to compete successfully in the National Championships.  Over the years several club members have gained international honours.

Currently, the squads have 37¼ hours training time per week.  Pool hire charges are very reasonable but the cost of squads, notably the coaching costs, are heavily subsidised by the Learn to Swim Scheme, a vital part of the financial structure of the club.

The City of Chester Triathlon Club is one of the largest in the country.  They have their base at the City Baths, where they have secure storage for a lot of their equipment, notice boards and their own office.

Club members train at the City Baths on 3 days a week, taking advantage of the good facilities and affordable pool hire charges.  Members compete regularly in events all over the country with considerable success.

Water Polo is flourishing at the City Baths with currently 6 hours of training time per week.  Sessions are held for senior men, junior girls and boys and mini-polo development, with over 160 members.  A number of teams are entered in various competitions in the North West.

Two girls have gained international honours and are part of the GB National Squad, representing England at the recent Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.
